In many Federal Asylum Centers across Switzerland, families and individuals fleeing war and instability are forced to live in shared spaces  often without basic privacy. This environment can retraumatize, isolate, and degrade one's sense of self. Through design research, participatory workshops, and interdisciplinary collaboration, we develop modular, easy-to-install solutions like lightweight modular and adaptable privacy system.

Design for Dignity was initiated by Violetta Dyka - Ukrainian designer, based in Switzerland, as part of her MA in Social Design Entrepreneurship. Inspired by her own experience of displacement and driven by a commitment to human-centered design, the project has evolved from a university thesis into a growing initiative.

Our team:

Project Lead - Violetta Dyka

Project Mentor - Catalina Jossen Cardozo

Industrial Designer - Tamara Tremonte

Marketing and Communication - Andrii Taran

From fieldwork and stakeholder interviews to material testing and design iterations, the project reflects a multidisciplinary approach to systemic social problems.
